Key achievements 2004-09 in Malta

2 of the 8 individual projects supported in Malta were within the sector for environmental protection. The largest Maltese project funded the establishment of a national containment and clean-up system for major oil spills. Within the Schengen sector, grants helped to prepare Malta for joining the border-free travel zone, through the construction of separate terminals for Schengen and non-Schengen travellers at Malta International Airport.
