Educational fund launched in Hungary
The block grant “International Mobility Programmes - Placements, study visits, partnerships” was launched at the conference “Proposal for International Mobility Programmes in the non-EU members EEA countries" in Budapest 19 February 2007.
The fund will support the development of the educational system in Hungary in the areas of lifelong learning and vocational training. Target groups are pupils, students, teachers, administrative staff, and experts responsible for education and training. Eligible applicants are institutions active in the field of education and training, such as secondary schools, training institutions, higher education institutions, SMEs, local authorities, NGOs, and labour organisations. Intermediary institutions can also submit a proposal in order to assist the participation of individuals in mobility. Projects can be implemented in partnership with an institution from Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein, with the Hungarian institution as the lead partner submitting the application.
Through the €1.2 million educational fund, grant assistance will be made available for the following activities:
- study visits for decision-makers, managers, teachers, trainers, administrative staff, experts, counselors in the field of employment, vocational education and training, higher and adult education;
- placements for students in initial vocational training or higher education, young workers and recent graduates, unemployed persons, and for those participating in labour-market training;
- teaching practice abroad for teachers in secondary schools;
- short term training courses for young graduates improving their practical skills and competences including language training;
- participation of students at joint degree programmes at MA and PhD level and regular degree programmes;
- international study trips to research institutes for particularly talented pupils / students or for teachers in secondary education or universities (partly combined with teaching practice);
- transnational partnerships.
